Safe in His Arms

Safe in His Arms

On a recent trip to Fort Eustis, Va., to visit our son and his family,
the Lord brought home to me one of His profound truths. Chloe,
our two-and-a-half- year-old granddaughter, is such a delight in
our lives . So many times I wish I could have half of her energy.
Anyway, she always has to sleep with Grammy, and she is quite
the little wiggle worm. I was very concerned about her sleeping
with me because I could not put the bed up against the wall, and
I didn't want her to fall off and get hurt. When we snuggled up
close to go to sleep I thought, I will just keep my arm around her
and keep her close to me. At some point during early morning, she
ended up crossways of the bed with her face at my feet. I was
awakened by her calling out my name. I instinctively grabbed her
up into my arms and was so thankful she had not taken a tumble
off the bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow, the Lord whispered
and said, "This is exactly what I do with My children when they
call out My name. I wrap them in My loving arms to keep them
safe." This was such a profound moment that I could have cried
tears ofjoy, because my heart was so filled with His love. As we
celebrate His birth this Christmas, may we be ever mindful that
He became the son of man and gave His life for us. We are now
the babe in His ever loving arms!

The Lord is thy keeper;
the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Psalm 121:5

For it is written, He shall give His angels charge over thee
to keep thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Luke 4: 10, II
(This was Satan trying to tempt Jesus,
when Jesus told him to get behind Him.)
